First-year Applicants

Studying in the United States

This section outlines what you need to do to complete your application if you will be an incoming first-year student and currently attend school in the United States.

Items to Complete Your Application

• Online Application Form, submitted electronically
• Common Application Supplement (if submitting the Common Application)
• $70 Application Fee
• Official Secondary School Transcript
• Senior Year Grade Report
• Standardized Test Scores, SAT or ACT, including writing section
• Secondary School Counselor Evaluation
• Two Academic Recommendations

Additional Requirements

• Early Decision candidates complete the Early Decision Commitment Contract
• Candidates applying to The College of Arts and Sciences who wish to also apply for Discovery Florence: The First-Semester Liberal Arts Program, must complete the Discovery Florence Application Supplement.
• Art and design candidates are required to submit a portfolio.
• Architecture candidates are required to submit a portfolio.
• Music candidates, except for those applying to the Bandier Program for Music and the Entertainment Industries, are required to complete an audition.
• Drama candidates are required to submit a portfolio or complete an audition, depending on the program of study.
• International students who are not U.S. Permanent Residents should note additional requirements and general information.
• Home-schooled candidates should contact our office to discuss appropriate credentials.
• Early Admission candidate requirements can be found at the end of the Enrollment Options section.
• Proof of Financial Support (for non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. permanent residents only) -- refer to International Requirements
• Proof of English Proficiency (for non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. permanent residents only) -- refer to International Requirements
