Syracuse University is committed to supporting those who have served our country. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs, in conjunction with the Veterans Resource Center (VRC), works to provide a seamless transition as you pursue your educational goals. The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs coordinates all federal, state, and institutional financial aid eligibility together with information we receive from the Veteran’s Resource Center. Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students only at the time of admission to recognize prior academic achievement; no separate application is required. The following financial aid forms are required and should be filed on or before our deadlines. CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE* Undergraduates only Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Certificate of Eligibility, found on your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List Request for Veteran's Benefits, found on your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List If you file your financial aid applications (FAFSA and CSS/PROFILE), before you know your veteran’s benefits, you will receive a financial aid award based on non-eligibility for VA funding. Once we are notified that you will be receiving veteran’s benefits, your financial aid award may be recalculated. Veteran’s benefits do not affect federal financial aid, but may change state and institutional aid eligibility, as well as private/alternative loans. You will be notified of any changes to your award via email. If you are a Syracuse University merit scholarship recipient, this scholarship may be combined with other tuition based awards, such as your veteran’s benefits or state grants, but cannot exceed the cost of tuition. In addition, if you are receiving any Syracuse University need-based grant, scholarship, or private/alternative loan, your total financial aid package cannot exceed the Cost of Attendance. The chart below illustrates how an aid package may change once we are notified of veterans benefit eligibility. 100% Yellow Ribbon Veterans Awards and Changes - Undergraduate Student *Based on 2012-2013 tuition of $37,610.
