October
  • Get organized! Begin an Admissions and Financial Aid folder to compile all the important paperwork you will receive.
  • CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is available for the 2013-2014 year. Syracuse University CSS PROFILE code: 2823.
  • Visit campus for Fall Receptions, sponsored by the Office of Admissions.


November
  • Applicants sign into your MySlice account and check your Financial Aid To Do List.

December
  • December 1 - CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE deadline for Early Decision students. Parent and student must submit signed copies of official 2011 US Income Tax Returns, including all schedules and W2s, to our office. Follow instructions on your MySlice To Do List.

January
  • January 1 - File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)- Syracuse University's FAFSA Code: 002882
  • Check your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List to ensure you have completed all filing requirements.
  • Mid January - Early Decision student award notices sent.

February

Required application deadlines:

  • February 1- FAFSA
  • February 1- CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE due for regular decision students
  • Scholarship Search - Begin your outside scholarship search- the Office of Scholarship Programs suggests you visit www.fastweb.com to complete a personal profile and begin your external scholarship search.
  • Check your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List to ensure you have completed all filing requirements.

March
  • Mid-March - Regular Decision and Transfer student merit and financial aid award notices sent.
  • Check your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List to ensure you have completed all filing requirements.

April
  • Submit monthly payment plan application to Bursar's Office, if interested.
  • Admitted students visit campus for Spring Receptions, sponsored by the Office of Admissions.
  • Check your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List to ensure you have completed all filing requirements.

May
  • May 1 - Tuition / Admission Acceptance Form deadline.
  • Direct Loan borrowers: Check your MySlice To Do List and complete all loan tasks.
  • Federal Direct Parent Loan (PLUS) Loan - Parents can begin to complete the Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students application.
  • Federal Perkins Loan - Federal Perkins borrowers should complete all loan tasks appearing on your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List.
  • Activate your "syr.edu" email account.


June
  • June 1 - Federal parent and student loan application deadline, if you wish these funds to appear on your July Bursar bill.
  • June 1 - Bursar  Monthly Payment Plan application deadline.

July
  • Late-July - Fall semester bill (Pre-bill) due to Bursar's Office.
  • Notify the Office of Scholarship Programs of any outside scholarships you will be receiving.
  • Deadline for Sibling in College Enrollment Verification Form, if applicable.
  • Complete your I OTTO Know This!  Financial Literacy module. See your MySlice Financial Aid To Do List.

August
  • Opening Weekend: Welcome to SU!
  • Classes begin! Financial aid funds disburse to student accounts. For refunds, check with the Bursar's Office.
  • Federal Work-Study (FWS) recipients search for jobs on the Student Employment Office web site.

September
  • Mid-September - Last day to drop classes without a financial penalty (usually 3 weeks after classes begin). Review Financial Aid Policies on Part-time enrollment.
