Syracuse University has offered a plethora of opportunities to me. I started off freshman year as a member of the WellsLink Leadership Program, which prepared me for not only my first year of college, but for success in the years to come. Since then, I have made dean's list every semester, carrying the most credits possible. I am proud of my 3.8 GPA, but I also realize that GPA isn't everything. Experiences outside the classroom count the most for me. My campus activities include: Groovestand Acapella Ensemble (music director), Creations Dance Company (dancer), WellsLink Leadership Program (peer leader), National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Starving Artists
(performer). I am proud of every organization that I represent here on the SU campus, and I hope to use my talents in the "real world."

Why did you choose SU?
I chose SU because I loved the atmosphere of both the university as a whole and the drama department. I attended Summer College here in 2005, and fell in love with the SU community. It was also far away from home, and that was something I was looking for in a University.

What has been your most meaningful experience so far?
My most meaningful experience has been meeting new people from all walks of life. My friends in Groovestand are completely different from my Creations Dance Company crew. My colleagues in WellsLink are completely different from my theatre friends. I love having it all and that's been really great for me here at SU. It means alot to know that diversity can be shared and accepted here.

What is the secret to your success at SU?
Focus! I do a lot so I have to manage my time very well and focus on each endeavor. Obviously, everything can't get the same level of focus, but I never shortchange anything. Everything and everyone gets the time and dedication they deserve. I am here for a purpose; I would like to graduate 4 years, not 6 or 7, so I try to avoid distractions.

How have you changed since you've been here?
I have learned to manage my time in a way that will benefit me in the future. I never did that in high school. It wasn't really a priority to me. Now, I can see how good eating habits and work ethic tie together to create a healthy lifestyle, both physically and emotionally.

What do you plan to do after graduation?
I plan to change the world one person at a time. My motto is, "Be inspired by art so that you may inspire others." I love touching peoples' lives with art, be it song, dance, literature, or theatre. I plan to go wherever life takes me in order to achieve my goals.
