Learning Communities

learningcommunities.jpgSU’s Office of Learning Communities offers a unique blend of in- and out-of-classroom experiences that bring together students who share a particular lifestyle, interest, or academic goal. Learning communities can be residential (where students take courses together and live together in campus residence halls) or nonresidential (where students take courses together and gather for frequent meetings and organized activities).

Both support academic and social success, help students meet new people on campus, create meaningful connections between in- and out-of-class experiences, assist in transitioning to SU, and increase student involvement in the SU community. Interest housing is also available to SU students. These community options offer students the chance to live with other students with common interests, but they have no academic requirements.
