CITATION CRITERIA PRIOR TO 2006-07
The Citation for Distinguished Service is bestowed upon members of the University staff whose contributions fall outside the academic sphere. It recognizes staff members for their outstanding job performance that far exceeds specific duties and expectations as described in their official job description and may include considerations such as leadership and collegiality.
Past selection committees have sought to recognize the many ways in which an employee may make outstanding contributions in serving the University community. Many factors have been considered and given varying weight, depending upon the various possible work environments. Some are recognized for their leadership through example or mentoring colleagues or professional dedication. Yet others are recognized for exceeding their job responsibilities under challenging conditions.
