CITATION CRITERIA PRIOR TO 2006-07
The Citation for Outstanding Contributions to the University's Academic Programs is bestowed upon members of the faculty and university staff. The award is not for years of service; rather, it recognizes outstanding contributions to teaching, research, and service programs of the University by faculty and staff members whose contributions far exceed their job expectations.
Past selection committees have sought to recognize accomplishments both within and beyond the individual's area of direct responsibilities. The award is not just for a job well done, but for exceeding the boundaries of the expected performance, with evidence of exceptional contributions to the academic community, often at the price of significant personal sacrifice. Please explain the contributions in terms that are easily understood since the selection committee consists of people outside the candidate's specific field or area of expertise.
