CITATION CRITERIA PRIOR TO 2006-07
The Citation for Exceptional Academic Achievement is bestowed upon members of the faculty who have made exceptional contributions to the scholarly and artistic world.
Past selection committees have sought accomplishments that defined or re-oriented the candidate's field of study, as recognized by his or her national or international scholarly community. Please explain concretely what the candidate has contributed to knowledge or to the artistic world in terms that are easily understood, since the selection committee consists of people outside the candidate's specific field or area of expertise. Because there are other awards that recognize outstanding teaching and service, the Chancellor's Citation for Exceptional Achievement does not recognize those contributions in the absence of academic achievement as described above.
