The Chancellor's Cabinet is composed of senior-level administrators, each a head of a major division of the University. Chaired by Chancellor Cantor, the Cabinet is involved in budget and policy decisions.

Eric F. Spina, Vice Chancellor and Provost

Dr. Eric F. Spina is the Douglas D. Danforth Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University, a position he has held since December 2003. In his tenure as dean, and previously as associate dean (2000-03) and a professor, Dr. Spina has been deeply involved in service, research and administrative activities focused on the improvement of engineering education.

Louis G. Marcoccia, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Marcoccia is responsible for the fiscal matters, business and auxiliary operations of the University, the planning and maintenance of University physical resources, transportation, parking, real estate, mail services, energy management, and steam and chilled water distribution systems.

Thomas Evans, Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Tom Evans serves as the General Counsel for Syracuse University. He is responsible for providing legal advice and services to the entire University, including the Board of Trustees, as well as to the University's affiliates and subsidiaries. His responsibilities also include overseeing the legal advice and services provided by other attorneys.

Thomas J. Walsh, Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Tom Walsh is Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Syracuse University. In this position he oversees the Division of Institutional Advancement, encompassing the offices of Development, Principal Gifts and Chancellor's Initiatives, University Communications, Alumni Relations, Program Development and Special Events, and institutional advancement operations in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles.

Daryl J. Gross, Director of Athletics

Daryl Gross assumed his current position in February 2005 and is responsible for overseeing, managing and directing all aspects of the Department of Athletics and the Carrier Dome. These responsibilities include management of all personnel, operational, facility, fiscal and policy matters for a program that conducts 21 varsity sports involving more than 600 student-athletes.

Douglas Biklen, Dean, School of Education

Douglas Biklen is Dean of the School of Education and Professor of Cultural Foundations and Teaching and Leadership at the School of Education, Syracuse University. He is a senior faculty member in the Center on Human Policy, Law and Disability Studies. His most recent book is Autism and the Myth of the Person Alone (2005). He was Educational Advisor for the Academy award-winning documentary Educating Peter (1992, HBO), co-producer of the Academy Award-nominated CNN documentary Autism is a World (2004) and co-producer/director of the film My Classic Life as an Artist: A Portrait of Larry Bissonnette.

Donald A. Saleh, Vice President for Enrollment Management

As vice president for enrollment management, Donald Saleh directs more than 250 full-time professional and support staff in the Division of Enrollment Management; is responsible for annual budget assets in excess of $230 million; and oversees University administrative units responsible for undergraduate admissions, graduate enrollment management, undergraduate and graduate financial aid and enrollment management research, as well as the Registrar's Office, SU Abroad and Army and Air Force ROTC.

David C. Smith, Vice President for Administrative Planning

David C. Smith has just begun his 35th year of service at Syracuse University having recently assumed the position of Vice President for Administrative Planning in Academic Affairs. In his current role, Smith will chair the Newhouse School dean's search; will be a consultant to the Vice President for Enrollment Management on enrollment matters; will serve as special advisor to Provost on international issues, with a special focus on SU Abroad; and will work with the Chancellor, Provost and Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement on special fundraising initiatives.
