Jennifer Zhao graduated from The College of Arts & Sciences and the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science in 2009 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering & BA in Policy Studies. During her undergraduate studies, she held multiple positions in her chosen field and in student life. She was a member of University 100, a Wellslink Peer leader, President of Asian Students In America, a member of Pi Tau Sigma (mechanical engineering honor society) and a sister of Alpha Omega Epsilon (engineering sorority). Her efforts to the community and cultural diversity have been recognized by the Division of Student Affairs and Office of Multicultural Affairs though awards such as Women of Distinction at Syracuse University (2008) and La Fuerza Community Enhancement Award (2009). She also took part in the Winston Fisher Program, GE Leadership at Work Series and Conference of Asian Pacific American Leadership program during her four years at SU.  

Currently, she is a Systems Engineer for Raytheon Company based in Portsmouth,RI. She manages life cycle sustainability, reliability, and maintainability of the products that Raytheon provides to the US Navy. Within her first year, she became the lead and has had increasing roles and responsibilities. She has earned her Six Sigma certification and works with a variety of engineering roles including planning, scheduling and finance to deliver products to the Navy. She is planning to pursue her Masters in the near future.
