Syracuse University Career Services is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Brown as our new alumni program coordinator. In this role, Kim will promote the career services that the office provides to alumni, manage and grow the group of alumni who serve as career resources for students, coordinate career events and programs connecting alumni with students, and expand current efforts of the office to engage alumni through social media.
Kim graduated from Syracuse University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in broadcast journalism and political science. She was very involved as a student at Syracuse participating in First Year Players, Student Association, HillTV (currently CitrusTV), and the Alibrandi Catholic Center. She also spent a semester abroad in Madrid Spain. Kim returns to SU after four years as a television news reporter at NewsChannel 9, WSYR-TV, the local ABC affiliate in Syracuse. Kim says "I feel so lucky to be back on campus in this new role. This is such an exciting career change for me and I am really looking forward to connecting with other alumni. From my own experience, I know that SU has such an incredibly strong alumni base and I can't wait to help students benefit from the career information and advice that our alumni can provide."
Mike Cahill, director of Career Services, emphasizes how valuable it will be to have an SU alumna in this position, "We are very fortunate to be able to bring Kim back to the university in this critical role. With her understanding of the Syracuse University experience, along with her great enthusiasm for this university and its students, Kim is very well prepared to expand our engagement with alumni to help us enhance the career development of Syracuse University students."
