Jason Zone Fisher

A self-proclaimed "networking nerd" he has a spreadsheet of over 250 names of all the contacts he has made since graduating.  He constantly networks with these people and many of those contacts have led to some interesting career projects.

Fisher's father ran for Lt. Governor of Ohio which inspired Fisher to produce an independent feature documentary titled "Swing State" chronicling the 2006 campaign of Ted Strickland and his father, Lee Fisher, and its effect on the 2008 presidential race.  It premiered at the Cleveland International Film Festival, as well as the Syracuse Film Festival, and at more than 24 other festivals and screenings around the country.  The film led to CBS News hiring him as a youth correspondent for the 2008 presidential race. He also reported for CBSNews.com, The WashingtonPost.com and UWIRE. As a correspondent he attended both national party conventions and the inauguration of President Obama. He appeared on the CBS Early Show as well as Katie Couric's webcast from the floor of the Democratic National Convention.

Fisher is currently the national spokesperson for Gillette, a position he acquired after he and fellow SU grad, Adam Ward '04, submitted a video and won the contest for the Ultimate Summer Job.  As the Gillette representatives they traveled around the country at various events, touting Gillette's Fusion Proglide razor. After the Ultimate Summer Job for Gillette ended, instead of emailing Gillette to see if they could still use Adam and Jason, they sent this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNCmhm3-9Go  which resulted in Gillette sending them to the Super Bowl and hiring Fisher to host the latest Gillette contest: www.GilletteInvasionChallenge.com

Most recently Ward and Fisher submitted a video for the Gain Million Bucks contest and have already made the top 25.  With the help of votes they may just find themselves a million dollars richer by the end of summer.  To see the video and vote go to Gain's facebook site: http://apps.facebook.com/gainmillionbucks/pages/Enter.php and find their video, "Logan B", and then vote for them! Works only in Firefox.

In his spare time Fisher is busy producing reality tv, internet and radio shows.  Fisher will star in an upcoming Samuel L. Jackson movie, "Arena".

Some of his other projects include:

Fisher attributes much of his success to his networking ability and encourages students and alumni to build those connections. Alumni Relations and Career Services are working with Fisher to bring him back to campus this fall, during Orange Central, to speak to current students and recent graduates.
