The scholarships of the Our Time Has Come Campaign are

available to undergraduate and graduate students

who meet the following criteria:

• You must be identified on system as an African American or Latino;

• You must be a U.S. citizen or resident;

•  You must be enrolled full-time on the main campus of Syracuse University. Scholarships are NOT awarded for part-time or summer study;

• You must have a class standing of sophomore or junior for academic year 2013-14;

•  You must have a current FAFSA on file with the appropriate authorities;

• You must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (the average GPA of scholarship recipients for 2012-13 is 3.4).

The scholarships of our program are based on need. In other words, students must have a need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid (the need is based on the information received from your FAFSA). Once need is determined, then awards are made based on merit (how well the student is doing academically).

Students are nominated by faculty, staff, current scholarship recipients or themselves. The procedure for nomination is listed below. NOMINATIONS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-14 WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM MARCH 11, 2013 THROUGH MAY 17, 2013 ONLY:  

 1. Send an e-mail to Angela Morales-Patterson, Manager of Alumni Programs, Office of Program Development at aamorale@syr.edu

2. The subject line should read "Nominee for Our Time Has Come (OTHC) 2013-14." In the body of the e-mail, please provide name with middle initial, school/college of enrollment, major, and class standing for academic year 2013-14. 

Only students who are awarded scholarships

will be notified in writing in September 2013.
