For Laura Cawley ’12, the Orange Value Fund has been the most impactful part of her SU education.
The rigorous, two-year financial analysis program allows students to apply their learning by managing an actual investment portfolio. It also offers opportunities to study in New York City. Every day, gifts big and small from Syracuse University alumni—like Jay Genzer ’88—as well as SU parents and friends, are responsible for programs like the Orange Value Fund. Now, in the little over two months since the start of the NYC fundraising effort, donors have stepped up in a big way. Here are some of the latest developments:
Gifts increase by nearly $2 million!
Between October 1 and November 30, pledges in the amount of $1,927,023 were received from 2,026 NYC-area donors, including 134 of your fellow Generation Orange alums (grads of the past 10 years). That brings the NYC totals for The Campaign for Syracuse University to nearly $284 million and more than 12,000 donors.
Genzer supports Orange Value Fund
Though he graduated from L.C. Smith with a degree in engineering, Jay Genzer ’88 followed his passion for investing and built a successful hedge fund business. A believer in hands-on learning, Genzer has been a generous supporter of the Orange Value Fund. Read more.
NYC events engage alumni and friends
It's been a busy few months at Lubin House, with the celebration of the new Volcker Chair in Behavioral Economics; a networking event for alumni in the finance, insurance, and real estate industries; and a lecture on the life and accomplishments of Leonardo da Vinci.
