So here we are, 50 years on and looking forward to meeting and greeting members of the glorious Class of 1961 at our 50th Reunion. I hope you will give us your enthusiastic support and plan to return to campus during Senior Alumni Weekend on September 9-11.
By now you should have received our 50th Reunion letter with some weekend details and a coupon for the 1961 Reunion Directory, compliments of the Office of Alumni Relations. Please order your directory today, so you can begin connecting with classmates and making plans to meet in Syracuse. It is a treat to catch up with long-lost friends!
Events to look forward to during the weekend include:
> Our Class of ’61 Kickoff Cocktail Party on Friday evening
> The Golden Anniversary Dinner on Saturday
> SU vs. Rhode Island football in the Carrier Dome
> Campus tours led by current students
> Open houses at The Daily Orange, WAER, and Army ROTC
> Art tours and talks
> Academic programs featuring faculty and students
For Saturday’s football game, SU vs. Rhode Island, the Carrier Dome has reserved a block of tickets in the lower level for our class. Tickets go on sale August 3 and more details on purchasing tickets will be sent prior to this date.
For those wanting something other than football, there will be art galleries to visit, campus tours, and a possible organ recital on the famous Holtkamp Organ in Setnor Auditorium. Leave time to visit the SU bookstore as well—it’s fun shopping for new SU mementos—or to wander campus at your leisure.
