The mission of the Syracuse University Alumni Association is to create an environment in which Syracuse University alumni, former students, parents, students and friends become and stay connected to the University and support it with their work, wisdom and wealth.  The Alumni Association implements its mission in partnership with the University’s Office of Alumni Relations. Together, we will successfully implement the following priorities during 2007-2009.

CELEBRATING ORANGE
The Alumni Association will be a leading voice in sharing with alumni the University’s vision of “Scholarship in Action” and the accomplishments of the students, faculty, and staff of Syracuse University. The Alumni Association will also celebrate the accomplishments of alumni, both great and small, as the backbone of what makes our University great.
 
CREATING & MAINTAINING LIFE LONG CONNECTIONS
The Alumni Association will be an active participant with the Office of Alumni Relations as it engages alumni through programs on and off campus that expand and strengthen the connections between them and our alma mater. This engagement will come through educational programs (working with students and faculty), arts programs and other activities. Through increased use of technology, alumni will be connected with and informed of the University’s programs and activities and enabled to connect with and network with one another, individually and through alumni clubs. The Alumni Association will engage with current students to share the heritage and traditions of Syracuse University and the significant role that they as alumni can play after graduation. The Alumni Association will welcome new students as they enter the University, support them in their time on campus and assist them as they leave campus to enter the world. (Many of the programs listed in this section will involve alumni, young alumni and students.)

ENSURING STEWARDSHIP OF THE FUTURE
The Alumni Association will develop and engage alumni leaders to assure the future stewardship of Syracuse University’s traditions, heritage and academic excellence. The Alumni Association will reach out to all alumni to encourage everyone to play a role in these efforts.
