Own The Dome - What to Expect

4 – 6 pm: Arrive at Lampe Parking Lot and take our shuttle bus to the Carrier Dome

Once you arrive at the Carrier Dome, you will proceed to check-in. For safety reasons, everyone will pass through a security checkpoint when entering the Dome (as is customary for all events inside this facility).  Your student will check his or her belongings, to be retrieved when they're ready to go to sleep.  Snacks will be available and families can walk around all areas of the Dome from the main concourse to the field.

7 pm: Opening remarks will begin promptly at this time

7:15 pm:  All parents and family members will depart the Carrier Dome. Only admitted students who have previously registered for the event will remain in the Carrier Dome after this time. You'll be escorted by current SU students to the shuttle bus to go to the Parents Dinner at Manley Field House, which is part of the Lampe Athletic Complex where you parked.

7:30 – 8 pm: Reception

8 – 8:45 pm: Parents Dinner and welcoming remarks at Manley Field House

8:45 – 9:45 pm: A panel discussion including staff members from Housing, Meal Plans, and I.D. Card Services, Residence Life, the Parents Office, and Public Safety, as well as faculty and students.  The Parents Dinner and panel discussion is intended for parents, though younger siblings may certainly attend. If you need to leave the dinner early for any reason, you may certainly do so.

10 pm and after: Get a good night’s sleep and return to the Schine Student Center the next morning between 8:30 and 8:30 am for our Spring Reception.  More than 1,700 people are expected, so it's a good idea to arrive early.  The program begins at 9 a.m.
