Discovery Florence is a special opportunity designed for accomplished first semester freshmen students entering Syracuse University with an interest in the arts, humanities, international studies or social sciences. You'll set the tone for your college career with an unforgettable learning journey in historic Florence, Italy, where your curiosity and desire to learn will be nurtured by an experienced faculty and dedicated international staff.

This program is only available to entering freshmen in The College of Arts and Sciences, and includes an in-depth orientation both to college and to life in another city. During your time in Florence, you'll live with a carefully chosen host family and study within an intimate group of students at the beautiful SU Florence campus. The Discovery Florence academic program covers all requirements faced by freshmen students on SU's home campus, which will allow you to remain seamlessly on track toward your degree requirements. Also, students in SU Abroad programs, including Discovery Florence participants,may participate in the All-School Field Studies Program. These unique programs offer students the opportunity to travel to cities throughout Italy under the guidance of an experienced professor or lecturer.
