Transfer Students

Admission Requirements

If you have attended an institution of higher education for any period of time after graduating from secondary school and received graded credit in academic coursework, please apply as a transfer student.

Admission to Syracuse University is contingent upon a continued record of good citizenship and character.

Transfer students are evaluated primarily on the basis of their college-level work.

Transfer Credit

Syracuse University grants transfer credit for courses successfully completed at other accredited institutions or through means described in the "Academic Rules" section under "Records"  of the Syracuse University Undergraduate Course Catalog.

In general, transfer credit is allowed for courses worth three or more credits where you earned a "C" (2.0) or higher and for which there is a comparable course offered at Syracuse University. Transfer credit is evaluated after you are admitted, and generally, notification of approved credit is sent within two weeks. You do not have to commit to enrolling until you have received your credit evaluation.
