Scholarship in Action is the bold vision that propels Syracuse University — a vision for education that's not static or for its own sake, but breaks out of the traditional "ivory tower." It drives us to forge innovative and sustained partnerships across our local and global communities. And that makes SU a place where students become leaders, scholars become collaborators, and the community is continually energized by new ideas
Syracuse University is comprised of nine individual colleges, representing the traditional liberal arts as well as professional fields of study. Choose from more than 200 majors and 100 minors. Please use the links below to visit your college of interest.

Syracuse University grants transfer credit for courses successfully completed at other accredited institutions or through means described in the "Academic Rules and Regulations" section of the Syracuse University Bulletin: Undergraduate Course Catalog. In general, transfer credit is allowed for courses worth three or more credits where you earned a "C" (2.0) or higher and for which there is a comparable course offered at Syracuse University. Transfer credit is evaluated after you are admitted, and generally, notification of approved credit is sent within two weeks. You do not have to commit to enrolling until you have received your credit evaluation.
You may also be eligible for credit transfer from AP, IB, or CLEP exams.
From the moment you step foot onto SU's campus, the community works hard to make you feel welcome and comfortable at your new home and to help you adjust academically. There are several options for academic support as well as the Office of Disability Services.
Approximately 80 percent of all admitted undergraduate students receive financial assistance. Syracuse University offers merit-based scholarships as well as need-based aid. Entering freshman are eligible for the Founders', Chancellor's and Dean's merit scholarships. These scholarships may be used to pay up to $12,000 of tuition costs. Transfer students are eligible to receive merit scholarships up to $6000. Please note that in addition to the FAFSA, we do require the CSS Profile.
